Description

The TURCK RM-29 / RM-36 Multiturn Series Absolute Encoder is a reliable position sensing system with CANopen output in binary code, with select variants featuring incremental 2048 ppr configurations. Integrated CANopen functionality includes: Class C2 Functionality, NMT slave, heartbeat protocol, high resolution sync protocol, identity object, error behavior object, variable PDO mapping, self-start programmable (power on to operational), three sending PDO’s, node address, baud rate, CANbus, and programmable termination. Profinet, Profibus and EtherCAT interfaces are also available with select variants.

The RM-29 (solid) and RM-36 (blind hollow) overall Ø 58 mm design offers compatibility with shafts up to 15 mm in diameter. The die cast zinc housing offers ingress protection of IP67, with IP65 or IP67 rated stainless steel shaft configurations. Units come with a wide operating temperature range of -40 to 80°C, are magnetic field proof, with short circuit and reverse polarity protection. A SET control button is available with protection against accidental activation. A diagnostic LED indicates optical sensor faulty path, low voltage, and over-temperature status. Integrated TURCK OptoASIC technology allows for fewer required points of connection and components, improving operation and service life.
